Business Process Outsourcing In India- A Growing Trend

Business process outsourcing in India has become a booming operation.  There are now a large number of companies who outsource the non-core aspects of their jobs to India on a regular basis.  There are many very serious benefits to business process outsourcing in India and very few drawbacks.  Business process outsourcing in India can handle many types of outsourcing as well.

Some of the benefits of business process outsourcing in India are the customer service and business competitiveness that is offered there.  The customer service is very important since most outsourcing companies in India are call centers.  The Indian people, as a nation, do speak English.  The majority has some accent with their language but there are some who speak English very clearly making them able to handle the calls to American customers.  The business competitiveness comes in with the costs of these call centers in relation to the costs of call centers in the United States.

There are drawbacks to what appears to be a perfect outsourcing solution by business processing outsourcing in India.  This drawback harkens back to the fact that English, though mandatory, is only a second language in India.  There are many Indians who speak with a heavy accent and therefore are very difficult for American customers to understand.  There is also the language barrier to cross when dealing with the operators to use proper English, which is very important when selling products or services.  This drawback can be traced to American consumers desire to buy only “Made in America” product and therefore only purchase it from American salespersons.

The drawbacks of business process outsourcing in India only cover the call centers though, and call centers are not the only type of business outsourcing handled by India.  India also has accounting firms that specialize in American business processes and there are firms that handle the transactional aspect of American businesses.  Both of these outsourcing firms can be done with many benefits to the outsourcing business with very few disadvantages.

Business process outsourcing in India has accounting firms that specialize in American businesses and are familiar with American laws and tax procedures.  These firms work much like the American version of the accounting firm, but are typically less expensive due to the strength of the American dollar.  The only disadvantage that the business process outsourcing in India has would be the exact and changing laws of taxes.  There is concern that Indian companies may not be aware of a change that would affect the business.

The transactional firms of the business process outsourcing in India are near perfect matches to the ones on American soil.  There are no real disadvantages to using an India firm over an American firm but the cost is less for reasons discussed earlier.  The customers do not know where transactions are done and the rules of transactions, if accounting transactions, are the same though out the world.  Company transactions, such as product movement, are often set up by the company and rules regarding such transactions rarely change.
